Holy Week Services at Flora First Christian

First Christian Church, Flora, invites the public to its Maundy Thursday service, March 20, and Easter worship service, March 23.

The 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday Communion service will follow a 6:30 dinner featuring Passover dishes.

The Communion service continues Interim Pastor Sam Davenport's Lenten sermon series "Yours Truly," exploring the "I Am" statements of Jesus Christ with the theme, "Come: Hold Onto The Vine."

The service of Communion will be held around dinner tables, affirming the bond of family, community, and faith.

Celebrate Easter! is the theme of the congregation's Easter Service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Pastor Davenport's sermon, "Finding Life in a Graveyard," will complete his Lent and Easter series on the "I Am" statements, with focus on John 11 when Christ said at the grave of a friend, "I am the resurrection and the life."

The congregation's Chancel Choir will present special anthem selections "Easter Canon," "Remember Me," and "Christ the Lord is Risen Today." The service will conclude with the celebration of Holy Communion. Childcare is provided for infants and toddlers, and a junior worship program is offered to pre-schoolers and children through second grade.

The church's Sunday school classes begin at 10:45.
