Winter Sports Summaries DCMS swimmers win final two meets Delphi Community Middle School swim team won its last two meets of the year, defeating Clinton Central 104-82 and Lewis Cass 112-74. The A-team finished with a six-win, one-loss record and second at the Rensselaer Relays. The B-team was 2 and 1, with the girls 2-0 and the boys, 0-2. First places against Clinton Central went to Mathew Randle, diving; Brandon Wilson, 100 free; and Annie Mose, 100 backstroke. Placing first against Lewis Cass were Mose, 200 and 400 freestyles; Randle, diving; Jessie Morrison, 50 butterfly; Megan Tenwinkel, 100 breaststroke; and the 400 free relay team of Wilson, Emily Layman, Taylor Thompson and Mose. Cougars and Rockets are defeated in sectional Special Olympics Unified Cougars and Rockets both lost in sectional games. The Cougars ended the season with a three-win, four-loss record at Valparaiso. Team members include Joe Bailey, Nick Martin, Brian Ward, Jarrod Hisey and Connor Wells. The team is coached by Mike Stewart and Bob Yates with volunteer assistant Jean Lear. The Rockets ended their season at Logansport with 7 wins and 5 losses. Team members are Kelly Buell, Stephen and Jesse Cadwallader, Richard Goyer, Josh Hartman, Paul Knight, Joseph Landon, Doug McCarty, and Ron Rice. Mike Cadwallader and Charles Fry Sr. are coaches. Volunteers are Mary McCarty and Kay Goyer. |
