Police & Fire Calls Delphi Police Dept. March 10, 10:49 p.m. - Intimidation, Carroll County Sheriffs Department. Report from a juvenile who was receiving threatening messages from another juvenile. Officer Chuck Kent responded. March 13 - Hit and run, W. Main St. While at a signal light, Amanda S. Brandt, 51, Battle Ground was struck by a semi-tractor truck which rolled backward into her vehicle. The truck proceeded forward through the light after impact. Officer David Yeager responded. March 13, 11 a.m. - Possession of alcohol and a firearm on school property, DCHS parking lot. Report of a rifle and alcoholic beverage in a student's unattended vehicle on school grounds. Both items were located and removed from the vehicle. During an interview with a suspect, the student indicated they had been target shooting the day before and neglected to remove the firearm from the vehicle. Rather than be late for the first period class, the student chose to cover the firearm with a jacket. In a security check of the parking lot, the firearm was discovered. There were no threats nor was the school placed on lockdown due to the incident. The case was forwarded to the prosecutors' office for review. Sgt. Brook McCain responded. Property damage reports Feb. 12, 3:11 p.m. - SR39 near CR150W. Estevan M. Montoya, 18, Flora, and Douglas R. Stewart, 50, Camden. Montoya was cited for a misdemeanor and an infraction. Both drivers and a passenger in the Montoya vehicle, Beatriceil Ledezma, 19, Flora were treated at the scene by EMS. Ledezma and Stewart were transported to a local hospital where Ledezma, who was later identified as Francisca Martinex, died. K-9 Deputy Mike Thomas responded. March 7, 1 p.m. - CR500N near CR200W.
