Nominate your choice for teacher of the year
Comet staff report

Delphi Lions Club announced nominations are being accepted for the sixth annual Teacher of the Year Award. The club presents the award annually to recognize one of the many outstanding teachers of the Delphi Community School Corporation.

According to a press release from the club, members would like to present the award to a teacher who has made an extraordinary impact in the classroom by means of extra effort, outstanding skills or creative approach.

The winner will receive a cash award, a Winner's Plaque, and their name will be placed on the "Teacher of the Year" plaque housed in the Lions Club Den. The winner will be invited to receive their award at the Lions Club Awards Night in May.

Delphi Lions are actively soliciting nominations from parents, guardians, students, teachers, staff and administrators.

"A teacher cannot apply for the award," a press release from the club stated. "It has to start with a person whom they have affected."

The winning teacher must be board certified and currently teaching in kindergarten through grade 12. Nominations will be accepted from now until April 9. The club's selection committee will choose the winner.

Nomination forms can be picked up in the principal's office of each school or the Delphi Comet office.

Mail the completed nomination form to: Lions Teacher of the Year, C/O Gil Smith, 6931W. 300N., Delphi, IN 46923.
