Flora-Monroe Township Each year, March is designated as National Women's History Month to ensure that the history of American women will be recognized and celebrated in libraries, schools, workplaces, and communities throughout the country. The theme for Women's History Month 2008 is "Women's Art Women's Vision." This year's theme provides a special opportunity to discover and celebrate women's visual arts in a variety of forms and mediums that help expand our perceptions of ourselves and each other. The 2008 honorees nominated by the Women's History Project represent generations of women who have moved history forward and who have created new possibilities for the future. Find out more information about these amazing women and their contributions in a Women's History Month brochure available at the main desk of the library. Week one participants in the Get Fit, Flora! program learned about breakfast nutrition, moving more, and setting goals. The group meets Thursday evenings at 7:15 p.m., with weigh-in up to one half hour before the meeting. It's not too late for you to join us. What do you have to lose? There is no storytime during spring break week. Kids can always hear a story 24-hours a day by calling the library's own Dial-a-Story. The current story playing is "The Goats in the Wheatfield."
