Camden Camden Town Council and Jackson Township Trustee and Advisory Board will hold a joint meeting at 7 p.m. March 20 in the Fireman's Lounge. Community Good Friday Service will be Friday at 7 p.m. in the Lower Deer Creek Church of the Brethren with all four area churches sponsoring the event. Pastor Guy Studebaker will give the message. A skit entitled "I'm Glad It Wasn't Me" will be presented by members of the churches. The service will also feature special music and communion. A free will offering will go to the county's Released Time Christian Education program. Camden Council of Churches is collecting nonperishable and dry goods items for the Carroll County Food Pantry. Items may be taken to any of the participating churches through Sunday. Community Easter Sunrise Service will be held at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the Baptist Church. Pastor Paul Marcellino will give the message. Breakfast will be served following the service. A free will offering will benefit the Released Time Christian Education program. Items will also be collected for the Food Pantry. Camden American Legion will meet Monday evening in the Legion Home. Camden First Baptist Church will kickoff its 175th anniversary celebration on March 30, starting with the worship service at 9:30 a.m. Guest speaker will be Dr. Larry Mason, executor minister of the American Baptist Church of Indiana and Kentucky. Following the service and Sunday School, a noon meal will be served. Following the meal, historical pictures may be viewed and presentations from the last 175 years will be given. The Cowboy Church Band will entertain at 3 p.m. Former pastors and members with 50+ years of service will be honored. Camden Cemetery's annual clean-up will be April 1 through May 1. To save decorations, please remove them by April 1. Thirty children attended the Easter Egg Hunt held Saturday at the Baptist Church. |
