Flora churches to host Good Friday services

The Flora Area Ministerial Association will sponsor two Good Friday services.

A mid-day service of reflection upon the cross, with music and prayer, will be held at 12 noon at the Grace Brethren Church, 103 S. Willow Street, Flora. Pastor Sam Davenport, interim pastor at First Christian Church, Flora, will deliver the message. The service is designed to last 50 minutes.

An evening service of meditation, prayer, and music will begin at 7 p.m. at the Bringhurst United Methodist Church. Pastor Sam Davenport will speak on God's perspective of the crucifixion entitled "Why Do We Call This Good?"

Combined choirs from Bringhurst United Methodist Church and Flora United Methodist Church will present the special music.
