Evelyn M. Jervis

Evelyn M. Jervis, 84, formerly of 995W 500S, Cutler, passed away at 9:10 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Wesley Manor in Frankfort.

Born Nov. 30, 1923, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Clarence and Myrtle Gibson Starbuck.

She attended Flora and Burrows schools and graduated from Camden High School in 1941.

On July 11, 1941, she married Byron A. Jervis, and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2002.

Mrs. Jervis was a member of the Flora Presbyterian Church and a past member of the Flora Eastern Star and the Women's Republican League.

She was Carroll County Recorder from 1973-1980.

Surviving are three sons, Marvin Jervis (wife: Connie) of Cutler, Clarence Jervis (wife: Sandi) of Florida, Carroll Jervis (wife: Beverly) of Galveston; one daughter, Teresa Maxwell (husband: Phil) of Delphi; four brothers, Clarence Starbuck of Logansport, Marion Starbuck of Rockfield, George Starbuck of Twelve Mile, and Jim Starbuck of Marion; three sisters, Sarah Starbuck Lane of Burlington, Viola Starbuck Simons of Logansport, Helen Starbuck Vanlaningham of Milford, and Beverly Starbuck Bartunek of Arizona; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two stepgreat-grandchildren. Two grandchildren preceded her in death.

Services will be today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora, with Pastor Charles Compton officiating. Burial will follow at Ball Hill Cemetery.
