Wilma Rusk

Wilma Rusk, 85, formerly of Bringhurst, passed away at 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at The Waters of Yorktown.

She was born July 15, 1922, in Mexico, Ind., to Oran W. and Ruth Hazel Irvin Robbins.

She was a 1940 graduate of Twelve Mile High School and a graduate of Ball State University with bachelor's and master's degrees.

On June 28, 1947, she married Lloyd W. Rusk in Twelve Mile. He preceded her in death in October 1998.

Mrs. Rusk retired in 1977 from Northwestern High School where she had taught business classes since 1948.

She was a member of the Burlington United Methodist Church, D.A.R. 19th Chapter of Peru, and the Society of Mayflower Descendants. She also was a member of the Howard County Teachers Association and a lifetime member of the ISTA and NEA.

Surviving are two daughters, Judith Ann Austin of Muncie and Barbara McKinney of Deer Creek; one sister, Phyllis Johnson of Twelve Mile; seven grandchildren, Eric DuBois of Muncie, Angie Barnes of Sheridan, Annette Unger of Rossville, Alan Wyant of Greentown, Anita Golding of Kokomo, Andy Wyant of Burlington, and Allison Popejoy of Delphi; 20 greatgrandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, one stepdaughter, and one great-grandson.

Graveside services were Saturday at Skinner Cemetery in Twelve Mile. Reinke Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
