Farmers asked to participate in online BMP survey
As with the national survey, the goal of the online survey is to collect information indicating the barriers to adoption of BMPs and nutrient management plans. "By collecting the same information on a state level, CTIC can identify which practices are most widely adopted and also address barriers to adoption within each state and region," says CTIC Executive Director Karen Scanlon. "We will be able to assist producers in addressing the specific challenges they face at the local level." To participate in the 10- minute survey, visit CTIC's website, www.conservation information.org, and click the link, "Indiana BMP Survey." CTIC will be collecting information until April 15. The ISA - the state's soybean checkoff organization - is working with CTIC to encourage Indiana producers to participate in the survey. "We know Indiana farmers are good stewards of our land and natural resources," says Chris Novak, ISA Executive Director. "As we work to expand crop and livestock production opportunities in our state, we need to be able to show Hoosiers that this growth can come with sound stewardship of our natural resources."
