Looking for a great morning wake-up? Plan to attend Faith Based Book Club at 9 a.m. March 13. "When Invisible Children Sing" by Dr. Chi Huang should provide a challenging and interesting discussion.

Huang took a year off from Harvard Medical School to work with orphans and street children in La Paz, Bolivia. He had no idea it would take only one year to change his life forever. He found his faith ignited, challenged and almost abandoned, but finally renewed.

Evening Book Club will discuss "The Known World" by Edward P. Jones March 19 at 7 p.m. Jones creates a masterpiece of overlapping plot lines, time shifts and heartbreaking details of life under slavery in the debut novel. The story chronicles the story of Caldonia Townsend, an educated black woman who owned slaves and how her decision to keep them unraveled community relationships. Several copies of book club selections are available.

Fiber Arts Circle will spin yarns and pull threads March 24 at 7 p.m. Fiber enthusiasts should bring supplies and a snack to share with a lively group of crafters who meet the fourth Monday of the month. If you knit, crochet, spin or quilt, this is where you want to spend a Monday night.

The library will be closed on Monday, March 17, for staff training.

Bathing suits and shorts are just around the corner; are you ready? It's not too late. Join the library's Get Fit, Flora! program.

Get Fit, Flora! follows the guidelines in the state's initiative, INShape Indiana and the governor's 10 pounds in 10 weeks challenge.

The free program encourages you to lose a pound a week through a combination of sound nutrition and physical activity. This 10-week program is just the first start in your commitment to improve your overall health.

Get Fit, Flora! will meet once a week for a short meeting. Participants will have a chance to weigh in on doctor's scales and have the support of others in the group. If you can't make the meeting, you will be able to weigh yourself at the library and also at the Carroll County Family YMCA during operating hours of each facility.

The call out meeting is March 13 at 7:15 p.m. Weigh in up to a half hour before the meeting.

The theme for storytime will be "Easter." Little chicks, decorating eggs, and bunny rabbits! Hop in for some great tales Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.

Dial-a-Story is available 24 hours a day by calling 967-3814.
