Police & Fire Calls Delphi Police Dept. Feb. 22, 3:54 a.m. - Criminal mischief, Delphi High School. School bus damaged. Officer Chuck Kent responded. Feb. 25, 5 p.m. - Runaway, resisting law enforcement, Wells St. Male juvenile left home without parental approval. After a short foot pursuit, the juvenile was taken into custody. Officer Paul Vondrasek responded. Feb. 27, 9:45 a.m. - Property damage with injury, US421 south of Armory Rd. Sheldon K. Kinzie, 18, and Sydney J. Smith, 18, both of Delphi. Smith and a passenger were transported by ambulance to a Lafayette hospital. Officer David Yeager responded. Feb. 29, 9:29 p.m. - Public intoxication, US421 at Franklin St. James L. Griffith, 53, Pittsburg, was arrested. Kent responded. March 1 - Theft, warrant service, Delphi Police Dept. Darren Ward, 41, Delphi, was arrested on a county warrant for an FTA probation and on a Tippecanoe County warrant for child support. The arrest came after he reported the theft of a gas powered scooter. Vondrasek responded. March 1 - Theft, unknown location. Hosea Bernfield reported the theft of a Skyye 9 mm pistol from his truck. Vondrasek responded. March 1 - Assisting another agency, Lafayette. After a request from Lafayette Police Dept. to contact a local citizen concerning a vehicle being used in a crime in that city, it was learned that the person in possession of that vehicle, Samual Munoz, who also gave another name, was wanted in Carroll County on a warrant for intimidation. He was also a suspect in other crimes in the city. Photos and a copy of Munoz fingerprints were delivered to LPD which confirmed the suspect's identity. Vondrasek investigated. March 1, 9:06 p.m. - Driving while never licensed, Washington St. at the railroad tracks. Report filed against Valintine Hernandez, 33, Flora, for driving while never licensed. Kent responded.
