Victory is oh so sweet

They say that good things come to those who wait…and sometimes to those who wait and wait. That's what Carroll boys basketball fans have been doing for nearly 50 years - waiting to win a sectional championship.

That feat was accomplished Saturday at Fountain Central when with just seconds remaining Carroll pulled out a two-point victory over the Seeger Patriots. Final score was 56-54.

The switch to the 2A bracket and to another sectional site must have been the key, along with some outstanding play by the Carroll players.

Congratulations - you are the envy of every team that came before you in the Carroll consolidation - 46 in all - who tried but failed to win a title.
