Carol M. Corwin

Carol M. Beever Corwin, 73, of Delphi, passed away Feb. 28, 2008, at 1:40 a.m. at Milner Community Health Care Center in Rossville. She had battled lung cancer for one year and resided at the nursing home for one-and-a-half weeks.

She was born Nov. 7, 1934, in Lafayette, to the late Melvin Beever and the late Nellie Mae Nance Grimes. Her marriage was to Glendon E. "Geno" Corwin in Rockfield, on Dec. 3, 1977. He preceded her in death Jan. 12, 2004.

Mrs. Corwin was a 1952 graduate of Battle Ground High School. She worked in Lafayette at the former Essex Wire and for nine years at Eli Lilly Company.

She had attended the First Assembly of God in Pittsburg.

Mrs. Corwin enjoyed the Indianapolis Colts, Purdue University sports, NASCAR, driver Jimmie Johnson, yard work and outdoor activities.

Surviving are a daughter, Sherri M. Sacha of Delphi; a son, Dennis Wilson (wife: Sharon) of Delphi; three sisters, Joanne Myers (husband: Ernie) of Lafayette, Joyce Gross (husband: Charlie) of Flora and Linda Calvert (husband: Glenn) of Delphi; eight grandchildren, Shawn Weaver, Shane and Jami Weaver, Angie and Ben Stier, Jamie and Michelle Wilson, and Jason Wilson; and four great-grandchildren, Zachary and Emily Weaver, Abbigail Stier and Ava Wilson.

Mrs. Corwin was preceded in death by two grandchildren and twin great-grandsons.

Services were held March 3 at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi, and were officiated by the Rev. Larry DeVos. Burial was at I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens in Pittsburg.
