Wanda C. Hensley

Wanda C. Hensley, 88, a resident of rural Delphi from 1959 to 2004, died Feb. 29, 2008, at Carmel Care Center in Carmel.

She was born Feb. 5, 1920, in Westfield, to Archie L. and Nancy Ellen Brattin Carey. She married James E. Hensley on May 8, 1941, in Noblesville. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1995.

Mrs. Hensley was a homemaker after working at Delco- Remy in Anderson during World War II.

She was a member of the Yeoman United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Hensley of Carmel and Kimberly Scroggs (husband: Rob) of Delphi; two brothers, Robert Carey of Florida and Bill Carey of5 Lafayette; two sisters, Irene Owen of Westfield and Doris Steel of Indianapolis; and four grandchildren.

Services were held March 3 at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi, and were officiated by Pastor Laura Helm. Burial was at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Delphi.
