Geraldine Buchmeier

Geraldine M. "Geri" Buchmeier, 95, formerly of Carroll County, passed away on Feb. 23, 2008, in Edmonds, Wash.

She was born to Phil and Mabel Miller on Feb. 15, 1913, at their farm in Democrat Township.

After graduation from Cutler High School in 1930, she qualified as a Registered Nurse, endured the years of World War II with her husband overseas, raised six children, was widowed early, and later earned a university degree at age sixty.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Rostad (husband: Tom), Tom Buchmeier (wife: Barbara), John Buchmeier (wife: Darla), Mike Buchmeier (wife: Nancy), Phil Buchmeier (wife: Rosemary), 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Joseph A. Buchmeier, M.D., her son, William Buchmeier, and her parents.

She will be greatly missed.
