Daffodil Days begin in Carroll County
Comet staff report

Daffodil Days is a special event representing hope in the fight against cancer. This year the Carroll County Unit of the American Cancer Society welcomes your support as Daffodil Days quickly approaches March 20.

This year over 5,000 daffodils have been reserved for Carroll County. The freshly cut flowers are available at $10 for a bunch of 10 blossoms. Vases are also available to help show the flowers off for $5. The daffodils are also available for delivery.

To place an order or to receive an order form, contact Sandy Chapin at 765-455-9905 or email: Sandra.chapin@ cancer. org. This year's preorder campaign ends March 14. Daffodils will be available for purchase and pick up at various locations throughout Carroll County.

Daffodil Days was originally initiated by the Canadian Cancer Society. It was started by the American Cancer Society in 1970 by the Erie County Unit of the New York State Division. In 1972 and 1973, this event included 52 units of the New York State Division. Many Divisions of the Society - large and small - now conduct Daffodil Days with great success.
