Local barber still cutting away
By Kevin Schnepp Staff writer

On the cutting edge Al Rossi, owner of Town & Country Barber Shop in Delphi, relaxes in a barber's chair between customers. Rossi said the business would remain open despite the March 2 closing of Brosman's IGA. The shop has been in operation on the outside corner of the grocery store on US421 for approximately 35 years. Rossi, in his second year as owner, said his lease would still be honored even though the buildings and lot were put up for sale. "I'm still here and waiting to cut your hair," Rossi said. Sometimes things are not always as they seem.

Local barber Al Rossi received some warm good-byes from customers who heard he would close his doors soon, but those endearments are going to have to wait. Rossi is still barbering away at Town & Country Barber Shop on US421 even though Brosman's IGA, the store to which his shop is attached, will close March 2.

Rossi said his business would remain open even though the building that houses his shop was put up for sale. He said a two-year lease he had with the property owners would be honored, which included his water supply.

"The water's still on and everything," Rossi said. "It's pretty much business as usual, except customers telling me goodbye now and then. I'm still here and waiting to cut your hair."
