Camden Order of the Eastern Star #475 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Masonic Temple to hear audit committee reports and honor officers and protems. Camden-Jackson Township Public Library Board will meet at 7 p.m. March 12 in the library. United Methodist Women will meet at 7 p.m. March 13 in the church. Roll call response will be a Bible verse from Esther. Jackie Edging will give devotions and Pat Fife, the lesson. Hostess is Jackie Edging. Camden Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. March 13 in the town hall. "Winter into Spring, There's Snow Better Time to Read," is a new reading club being sponsored by the Camden-Jackson Township Public Library starting Feb. 25. The club will continue through April 25. Participants are required to read two books a month. An Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 2 p.m. March 15 in the Camden First Baptist Church. Donations of cookies and candy are needed. A youth meeting will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Camden Baptist Church. Children and parents are asked to attend. Camden Lion Bill Dittman was awarded his 30-year pin at the February meeting of the Camden Lions Club. It was announced at the meeting that the club will be sponsoring an antique tractor pull on July 5 at the park and a horse pull on July 26 at the park. The annual tractor pull will be Aug. 15-16 at the park. Camden Council of Churches met last Thursday night to finalize plans of the Community Good Friday and Easter Sunrise services. The Good Friday Service will be at 7 p.m. March 21 in the Lower Deer Creek Church of the Brethren. Easter Sunrise Service will be held at the Baptist Church at 6:30 a.m. Breakfast will follow the service. A free-will offering will be taken at each service for Released Time Christian Education. Camden Council of Churches is requesting items for the Carroll County Food Pantry, starting immediately and continuing through Easter Sunday. Nonperishable and dry goods may be taken to the Baptist, Lower Deer Creek, United Methodist and St. Peter's Lutheran churches. |
