Crash near Flora sends four to area hospitals

Carroll County Sheriff's Department responded to a twocar crash on SR18 and CR250W, just west of Flora, Feb. 12 at 3:15 p.m.

A 1995 blue Dodge Neon, driven by Douglas R. Stewart, 50, Camden, traveling east bound on SR18 struck a west bound maroon 1992 Buick, driven by Estevan M. Montoya, 19, Flora. Stewart was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette and was initially listed in critical condition.

Genoveva Deleon, 49, Flora, a passenger in the Montoya vehicle was taken to Home Hospital in Lafayette in critical condition. Beatrice Ledezma, 27, Flora, and Montoya were both transported to Home Hospital with minor injuries.

According to the report, the weather was a factor in the crash.
