Roger L. Trent
Born Dec. 13, 1951, in Logansport, he was the son of Lloyd and Rebecca Peters Trent. He graduated from Flora High School in 1970. His marriage was on Jan. 8, 1972, in Flora, to Shirley J. Burns, who survives. Mr. Trent worked for Excel Co-op in Flora for a total of 26 years, 17 in fuel delivery and nine on the fertilizer side. He previously worked at Mann Chevrolet for 10 years and he and his wife did cleaning for Jackson-Lee-Pearson John Deere in Flora for 20 years. He attended Bringhurst United Methodist Church. Mr. Trent and his wife were founding and charter members of the Idler's Car Club in Flora. He enjoyed boating, mushroom hunting and muscle car restoration. Surviving are three sons, Troy Trent (wife: Casie) of Bringhurst and Justin L. Trent and Brandon M. Trent, both at home; a brother Martin Trent (wife: Glenna) of Bringhurst; a sister, Rose Cable (husband: David) of Camden; in-laws Bill and Ruth Burns of Flora; and a grandson, Cole W. Trent. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Ladonna. Friends may call Feb. 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi. Services will be Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. at Bringhurst United Methodist Church. The Rev. Larry DeVos will officiate. Burial will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora.
