Awarded for mentoring
Delphi Community High School Agriculture teacher Beth Theobald (pictured) was one of six individuals to receive the Teacher Mentor Award during the recent National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) annual conference. NAAE said that because of her continued relationships with more than two dozen student teachers from Purdue University, which she mentored, and her concern for their futures, she was asked to head up the association's mentoring program last year. Mark Balschweid, associate professor in Purdue's Department of Youth Development and Agricultural Education said Theobald worked positively with young teachers. "Beth recognizes the strong relationship between beginning teachers feeling confident in their job and their desire to remain in the profession," he said. Theobald received a plaque, cash award and an expenses-paid trip to attend the annual conference in Las Vegas. Photo provided
