EDUCATION NEWS NATHAN TRAPP of Flora was named to the fall semester dean's list at Muscatine Community College in Iowa. Indiana State University has announced its dean's list for the fall 2007 semester. Area students making the dean's list include: ANGIE VEACH of Camden; and HEATHER BRAKEL, ASHLEY GARRISON and BRITTANY LAKE, all of Delphi. Two Carroll County students were among 26 Muscatine Community College (MCC) Agribusiness & Technology students who recently attended the Postsecondary Agricultural Students of Iowa (PAS) spring conference hosted by Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls. The two-day conference focused on professional development, industry networking combined with individual and team competitive events. The MCC swine specialist team placed second with NATHAN TRAPP of Flora the high score individual, He completed a 100 question multiple choice exam and then prepared and presented two different case study problems about the swine industry to a set of judges. MARK MINNICUS of Delphi participated in the Crop Specialist program. He and his teammate individually completed a 100 question multiple choice crops exam, identified pest and field situations using 50 slides and as a team, solved a complex cropping system problem using data from herbicide labels, nutrient recommendations, and other agronomic information. |
