4-H - something for everyone Over 100 years ago, 4-H began by offering the basic projects of hogs, corn and cooking. Carroll County 4-H now offers something for everyone with over 60 projects to choose from. Some of our more popular projects are: Animal Posters, Arts & Crafts, Beef, Cake Decorating, Cat, Collections, Computer, Consumer Clothing, Dog, Electric, Flowers, Foods, Food Preservation, Gift Wrapping, Goats, Horse & Pony, Junior Leaders, Photography, Pocket Pets, Poultry, Rabbits, Scrapbook, Sewing, Sheep, Shooting Sports, Swine, Wildlife, and Woodworking. Mini 4-H'ers (4- H'ers in grade 2) can choose from the following offerings: All About Me, Arts, Crafts & Models, Bicycle, Bugs & More Bugs, Collections, Dinosaurs, Dogs, Foods, Forestry, Horses, Recycling, Sewing, Space and Trees. For each project, 4-H'ers will receive a project manual. The project manual provides information, experiments or activities for the 4-H'ers to complete. By working on 4-H projects, 4-H'ers "learn by doing". Project Leaders and Junior Leaders (4-H'ers in grades 7-12) as well as parents can serve as resources for 4-H'ers as they complete their projects. 4-H'ers can enter their completed project at the Carroll County 4-H Fair - July 10- 18. At the Fair, projects receive ribbons and several are selected to be exhibited at the Indiana State Fair. More importantly, 4-H'ers feel selfsatisfaction from working hard to complete their project by doing their best. |
