Nora M. Wetzel

Services for Nora Marie Wetzel, 91, formerly of Flora, were held Monday at Baker Funeral Home, Flora. Pastor Bill Godbey officiated. Burial was at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.

She died at 11:33 a.m. Thurs., Jan. 17, 2008, at Lafayette Home Hospital.

Born Oct. 9, 1916, in Uniontown, she was the daughter of Other and Myrtle Sandage Brown.

Mrs. Wetzel retired from Essex Wire in Logansport in 1978.

She had resided at Milner Community Health Care Center in Rossville for the past three years.

She was an avid NASCAR fan and her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon.

Surviving are three sons, George Wetzel Jr. of Milan, Robert Wetzel (wife: Anna) of Young America, and Charles Wetzel (wife: Gail) of Aurora; four daughters, Sue Hartman (husband: Larry) of Camden, Joyce Lambert (husband: Bud) of Flora, Linda Snowberger and Shirley Linder (husband: Vern), all of Lafayette; two sisters, Nancy Evans of Florida and Fonda Decanto of Tennessee; 19 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

A brother, Arthur Brown, and three grandsons preceded her in death.
