Future leaders take the oath
Newly-elected Delphi and Flora officials took their oath of office, administered by Congressman Joe Donnelly, Friday night at Delphi City Hall. "I am proud of these individuals," Donnelly told the crowd. "They have done an outstanding job. It's not about being a Democrat or a Republican. It's about trying to improve the community," he said. Twenty-year Delphi City Council veteran Carolyn Pearson received a round of applause from the other candidates and the many audience members for her service to the city over the years. Standing in the front row, left to right, are council members Kyle Germond and Dan Sterrett, Delphi Clerk-Treasurer Janice Roe, mayor Randy Strasser, council member Pearson and Flora Clerk-Treasurer Joretta Tinsman. Back row, l-r, are Judge David Weckerly, council member Nelson Smith, Donnelly, council member Brian Garrison, board of works appointee Bob Conner and Flora council member Vince Seward.
