Burlington Burlington Town Council met Jan. 1 in the town hall to sign marshal Jill Hammond's contract. Afterwards, the council met in work session to familiarize themselves with their new positions. Newly elected town officials will have an open house at the town hall on Jan. 2, 3 and 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Residents and business owners in the town and township are welcome to stop by to offer suggestions and discuss ideas and concerns. Snacks and drinks will be served. Kiwanis will meet Saturday at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast and meeting at the fire station. Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Burlington on Jan. 8 from 1 to 6:30 p.m. at the Community Park Building. Burlington Area Community Center has a van available to transport residents to doctor and hair appointments, shopping, etc. The only expense is a voluntary donation for gas and driver. To schedule pick-up, call 566-3192. Faith Church of Christ will have a carry-in meal on Sunday at 6 p.m. Board game night will be the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Faith church. Volleyball competition will be the fourth Thursday night each month at 6:30. |
