The library is closed on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 in observance of the New Year's Day holiday.

Sadly, we say goodbye to circulation clerk Nancy Sweat, who is retiring at the end of this year. Library staff and patrons will miss her particular brand of customer service and professionalism. In addition to her desk duties, she made it a personal mission to maintain and update the various book displays and author profiles throughout the library. Her last day was Dec. 30.

When the wintry weather arrives it makes it more difficult for some patrons to make the trip to the library. Do you know someone who loves to read but can't come to the library because of limited mobility or age?

Library Direct is a service offered by the library to assist individuals in the library district who are homebound including the elderly, handicapped and those incapacitated by long-term illness or injury. Let us bring the gift of reading to your loved ones, friends and neighbors. For more information about this free service call the library, 967-3912, or email, floralib@ flora.lib.in.us.

Storytime is on break during the holidays and will return next week. Until then call Dial-a-Story, 967-3814.
