Comet staff report

Indiana will participate in the Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) of the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC). The program will enable residents of Indiana as well as Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and Wisconsin to enroll in designated institutions and programs at reduced tuition levels beginning the fall of 2009.

"This is an excellent opportunity to draw more students to Indiana." Stan Jones Indiana Commissioner of Higher Education said.

"We also recognize it is vital for the success of our Midwest students to have choices while also providing a savings to students and their families."

Four Indiana institutions or campuses are planning to participate in MSEP - Ball State University, Indiana State University, Ivy Tech Community College and Purdue University North Central. Once details have been finalized by these institutions and posted on the MHEC website, students may begin to take advantage of the program.
