Farner guilty of arson
      It took a Carroll Circuit Court jury a little more than an hour last Wednesday afternoon to find Larry Farner, 62, of Delphi, guilty, as charged of one count of arson. Farner was arrested after allegedly setting fire to a replica canal boat at the Wabash & Erie Canal Interpretive Center Aug. 31.

DCES holds fundraiser for student
      A movie matinee was held recently at Delphi Community Elementary School to benefit Sophia Moore, a second-grader who is battling Non- Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The sale of popcorn and drinks raised over $1,300. Proceeds were used to purchase a gas card for the family to offset fuel costs for trips to Riley Children's Hospital.

Burlington will not house ambulance after December 31
      Burlington Town Council discussed the county emergency ambulance service at its Dec. 9 meeting. Council President Stan Moore read a report from Burlington Volunteer Fire Department Chief Mark Miller explaining that due to the budget cuts the county council has placed on the Emergency Medical Service there will be no ambulance in Burlington or paramedic chase vehicle

Camden Town Council weighs medical office future
      Camden Town Council members considered the future of Dr. Thomas Anderson's Medical Office and the community at the Thursday night meeting. When Anderson died recently, the town was left without a doctor. Council president Pete Wagoner said the office would close at the end of December.

Still quilting at 93
      Theressa Isaacs of Flora made her first quilt in 1930- 31. She got the pattern from the Logansport Press (newspaper), and she did the quilting by hand. At age 93, she's still making quilts and still quilting them by hand.
