Carroll County Commissioner elect Pat Clawson attended "new comm issioner training" last week as part of a statewide allc ounty commissioners' conference. Held in Indianapolis, the conference served to bring county commissioners from across the state together with trainers, speakers and vendors.

"Overall, the training was a positive experience," Clawson said Monday. "There are lots of legislative updates to be aware of all the time."

Clawson said there was a full agenda from Tuesday through Thursday with classes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day. He said he saw outgoing commissioner George Mears and Bill Brown there.

"I had dinner with Loren (Hylton, current county commissioner president)," Clawson said.

"I learned that if we plan to do it right, we will have to spend a lot of time at it," he concluded. "It's imperative that we work together for the county."
