Everett "Junior" Maxwell Jr., 76, of Bringhurst, died at 5:41 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

Born June

5, 1932, in Flora, he was the son of Everett and Nora Dunkle Maxwell. On Aug. 24, 1962, he married Bonnie Landes, who survives.

Mr. Maxwell was a tool and die operator at Fairfield Manufacturing Co., Lafayette, retiring after 37 years in 1992.

He was a member of Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge, F&AM, #211.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a NASCAR, Colts and Pacers fan.

Surviving with his wife are three sons, Darrell Maxwell of Bringhurst, David Maxwell (wife: Lynn) of Fort Wayne, and Steve Herron (wife: Dorothy) of Lafayette; two daughters, Debbie Verbeck (husband: Dave) of Wyoming, Mich., and Rhonda Houser (husband: Don) of Lafayette; one brother, Jack Maxwell of Rossville; ten grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandi; a grandson, Troy; a granddaughter, Leslie; and a brother, Charles.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Baker Funeral Home, Flora. Pastor Jeff Tomson will officiate. Burial will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. Visitation will be Friday at 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
