Carroll to host program on 'Cyber Bullying'
Parents and other interested community members are invited to attend a presentation on "Cyber Bullying" at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10 in the Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School auditorium.
The speaker will be Detective Mike Widner of the Hamilton County Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. He will talk about cyber bullying and online predators, focusing on warning signs, prevention, and Internet safety.
Admission is free.
Children are not allowed to attend the presentation, according to school administrators, but childcare will be provided by the FCCLA.
Students in grades 5-10 will attend a convocation during school on Dec. 10. Three separate convos, divided according to grade level, will be presented by Wider. The presentation will focus on Internet safety and the effects of cyber bullying. The information will be student driven and will include cyber bullying on social network sites such as MySpace and Facebook.
