MID-LAND MEALS is sponsoring a Community Volunteer Day to Help Seniors Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at their location in Lafayette. Shots will be given from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Camden Community Building; from 12 noon to 2 p.m. in the Community Senior Citizen Building in Flora, and from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Town Hall in Burlington. More ... Wayne Fisher of Camden has been transferred from Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis to Lafayette Home Hospital where he is in rehab on the fourth floor. He is improving from a fall from a tree stand on Nov. 15. He sustained six broken ribs, several cracked vertebra, a broken shoulder blade and bruised lungs and underwent surgery before the transfer. They were especially thankful for her grandson, Brandon Cook, who recently returned from duty in Iraq. The son of Jeff and Lisa Cook of Delphi, he shared pictures and video from his tour there. More ... The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) is encouraging Hoosiers to reduce, reuse and purchase more recycled-content products as part of their holiday plans.
