Everett, Atwood are champions at Chesterton Super Duals
The Delphi wrestling squad started off the 2008-2009 season at Chesterton over the weekend. The Oracles ended 1-4 on the day.
Team scores per round were: Delphi 33, Chesterton 34; Delphi 24, McCutcheon 42; Delphi 32, Munster 39; Delphi 21, Elkhart Memorial 55; and Delphi 63, Lowell 24.
Individually, the Oracles had two champions. At 285, Wes Everett went 5-0 with three pins and at 171, Braden Atwood went 5-0 with four pins. Atwood was voted by the coaches as the outstanding heavy wrestler of the meet.
Winning three matches on the day for the Oracles were 119 - Stephen Back, 160 - Brandon Delaney, and 189 - Daniel Clawson. Winning two matches were 135 - Tanner Lynde, 140 - Corey Smith, and 145 - Aaron Back.
Winning one match on the day for the Oracles were 112 - Randy McIlrath, 112 - Cesar Cervantes, 125 - Blake Price, 130 - Adam Cunningham, 152 - Kyle Lashley, and 215 - Ken Myers.
The Oracles will wrestle next on Tuesday at Carroll at 6 p.m.
