Festive evening in Burlington

2008-11-26 / Community

Burlington's annual Christmas Walk was held Saturday evening. Various businesses, such as Northgate Market and Ruth Johnson (pictured), hosted open houses and vendor booths were set up around town. Santa arrived with great fanfare in his special escort by the fire department. He greeted children at the Brewster home. Carolers spread the festive spirit by singing Christmas favorites throughout town. Over fifty presents from the coloring page drawing were given out to children. The presents were from the direct contributions of Burlington area businesses. Businesssponsored adult drawing raffle prizes were also awarded. At the close of the evening, people gathered for the lighting of the town Christmas tree. Stan Moore, town council president, began the countdown and the crowd cheered as children helped Santa light the tree. The evening concluded with singing of a few Christmas songs. Photos provided
