County rivalry renewed in season opener
      Basketball fans will get a double-dose of the Delphi- Carroll rivalry this season as the schools are slated for two regular season games, as well as a third potential match-up at Sectional tournament time.

Lady Cougars big 2nd half fuels victory over Sheridan
      The Lady Cougars entered their game Monday evening against Sheridan with a 1-2 mark, looking to get to .500 for the young season. Their goal was accomplished with a feisty second half performance, posting a 45-36 win against the Lady Blackhawks.

Patriots stop Oracle ladies
      In their home opener the Seeger Lady Patriots got off to a fast start against the Oracles and never trailed enroute to a 47-38 victory. Delphi had five turnovers in its first six possessions to fall behind, 10-0, in the first two minutes of the game. The Oracles first point came when Kari Lake made one of two FT's with 5:40 remaining in the opening period.

Garrison to play for Indiana Tech
      Carroll senior Megan Garrison has signed a letter of intent to play golf for Indiana Tech, Fort Wayne. She received a full four-year academic/golf scholarship and will major in accounting.

Everett, Atwood are champions at Chesterton Super Duals
      The Delphi wrestling squad started off the 2008-2009 season at Chesterton over the weekend. The Oracles ended 1-4 on the day. Team scores per round were: Delphi 33, Chesterton 34; Delphi 24, McCutcheon 42; Delphi 32, Munster 39; Delphi 21, Elkhart Memorial 55; and Delphi 63, Lowell 24.

Carroll wrestlers open season at tournament
      The Carroll Cougar wrestling team competed in its first matches of the season at a tournament Saturday at Taylor High School. Also present were teams from Mississinewa, Taylor, Grant, Wabash, Eastern, and Madison. Though a young team consisting mostly of freshmen and sophomores, Carroll wrestlers as a whole did well.

Team wins tourney
      Carroll Elementary 6th graders (l-r) Courtney Atkisson, Bayleigh Filbrun, and Carly Kingery helped their Kokomo PAL basketball team win the league championship in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade division on Nov. 16.

Albino deer shot
      Ed McKenzie of Delphi shot an albino, six-point buck Nov. 16 on CR 700N., two miles off Carrollton Road. McKenzie's son spotted the deer earlier in the day and McKenzie shot it around 6 that evening.

Carroll 8th wins Classic
      Carroll 8th grade boys basketball team won the Carroll Classic on Nov. 22. In the first game, the Cougars defeated Lewis Cass 31-22. Leading scorers for Carroll were Eric Miller with 14 points and Jacob Bush with 8. In the championship game, Carroll defeated Twin Lakes 48-29. Miller led the way for the Cougars with 19 points. Bush added 14.
