William "Ed" Fite, 70, of Monticello, passed away at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, in his home.

Born May 22, 1938, in Lafayette, he was the son of William and Wanetta White Fite. His marriage was on June 1, 1984, in Monticello to Anna Shepherd, who survives.

Mr. Fite attended schools in Dayton, Ohio.

He reired from Delphi Body Works, where he was employed as a painter, welder and fabricator.

Mr. Fite enjoyed restoring vintage trucks. He was an avid motorcycle rider and outdoor enthusiast.

Surviving are a son, Michael Fite of Monticello; a daughter, Sherry Sherer of West Lafayette; a brother, Richard Fite (wife: Pat) of Camden; a sister, Maureen Haney of Silver Dollar, N.M.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was a son, William.

Services were held Nov. 15 at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi. Father Peter Vanderkolk officiated. Burial followed at Yeoman Cemetery.
