Melissa Beckner of Fishers, formerly of Flora, has started a new business, MB SKETCHES.

Beckner Beckner Beckner creates custom sketches of homes, churches, and schools. She also creates cards and framed prints from her sketches of Purdue, IU, and more. Her sketches have won awards.

Beckner is a 1992 graduate of Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School and a 1996 graduate of Indiana University. She is employed by Hamilton Southeastern Schools.

SUSANNAH HALL-JUSTICE, owner of Hall-Justice Law Firm, attended the recent two-day Indiana Trial Lawyers Association 44th Annual Institute in Indianapolis. Topics covered included Cross Examining Defense Medical Witnesses, Winning Through Persuasion, The Art of Designing Powerful Computer Exhibits, and Ethical Argument in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Cases.

DR. GORDON D. WAGONER of Drs. Wagoner & Wagoner PC, Flora, recently returned from a two-day seminar on sleep apnea held in Toronto, Canada.

Sleep apnea is a condition in which patients quit breathing at night for extended periods of time. Data has shown that patients having untreated sleep apnea have an average of eight year shorter life span.

Currently, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine has determined that oral appliances are an acceptable first line treatment for mild to moderate cases of sleep apnea.
