Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Maxwell of Bringhurst celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a surprise family gathering for lunch on Nov. 2. Also celebrated at this time was Ralph's 65th birthday.

He and the former Carol Cleaver were married Nov. 10, 1968, at Pyrmont United Methodist Church.

He works in maintenance at Sam's Wholesale Club in Kokomo, and she works as a cook and cashier at Carroll Junior-Senior High School.

They have two daughters, Michelle Dillman of Flora and Janelle Pullen (husband: Darren) of Bringhurst. The couple has one grandchild.
