Make a difference in the life of a child
November marks National Adoption Month. The purpose of this month is to bring awareness to the thousands of children who are in the foster care, domestic and international adoption systems.
There are a number of ways for you to get involved in the lives of these children. A great way to start locally is to check with your local Department of Children and Families to find out about fostering a child. There are also children who are available for adoption both domestically and internationally. A good way to find out about what countries are open for adoption and the different adoption agencies working in those countries is through the Internet.
If adoption or fostering are not an option for you, then think about the possibility of assisting a family that would like to adopt a child.
We can all make a difference in the lives of these children if we make the effort. The difference begins with bringing awareness to adoption and fostering.
