Plans are under way for a Burlington Christmas Walk on Nov. 22. Shops will be open from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Santa is expected to arrive at 5 p.m. Children are encouraged to participate in a coloring contest. Prizes will be awarded on the 22nd at 6:30 p.m. Coloring pages may be picked up at various locations throughout Burlington and the surrounding area.

Veterans of the Burlington community will be honored at a veteran's program to be held Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Community Park Building. This will be an opportunity to show patriotism and give thanks to the men and women who have served this country. Larry Lowry, Cass County Veteran's Service Officer, will be speaker at a short program. All veterans, their families and the public are invited. A free light meal will be served. The event is being sponsored by the Burlington Masonic Lodge in cooperation with American Legion Post 414.

Park Board will meet at 7 p.m. today, Wednesday, in the Community Park Building.

Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the town hall.

Kiwanis Club will meet Saturday for breakfast and meeting at 7:30 a.m. in the fire station.

Crossroads Community Christian Church will have a talent show on Nov. 23. Individuals and acts may sign-up now at the church.

Faith Church of Christ is collecting non-perishable food items for the Kokomo Urban Outreach. The church also collects 15 bottles each of shampoo and conditioner for CAM, the ministry to the homeless. CWF is collecting travel size shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, bar soap and toothbrushes for family gift bags at the Ronald McDonald House at Riley Hospital.

An all-church carry-in Harvest Meal will be held Sunday at 12 noon at Faith Church of Christ.

First Brethren WMS will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Sterling House.

The First Brethren Church celebrated the beginning of the church in Burlington, started 125 years ago in 1883. One hundred fifty attended. Guest speaker was Burlington native, the Rev. Kurt Stout, senior pastor of the First Brethren Church in North Manchester. He is the son of Allen and Cynthia Stout. Following morning worship, pictures were taken and a carry-in dinner was served.

Crossfire Youth Ministry of Oakland Christian Church will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday.
