Delphi School board tours areas slated for renovation
      Delphi Community High School principal Barry Stone, Superintendent Ralph Walker and approximately 22 high school and middle school teachers led the school board on a tour of the high school Oct. 21, describing the conditions of the facility. The tour was held as a work session for school board members considering a $13 million dollar renovation package.

CJSHS honor roll announced
      Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School Principal Charles Huckstep announces the honor roll for the first nine-week grading period. Students on the Top Scholars honor roll earned a 4.0 or higher grade point average. Those on the Distinguished honor roll earned at least 3.67, and those on the A-B honor roll earned at least 2.67.

Local students and teachers participate in dairy and nutrition program
      Delphi Community Elementary School fourth grade teachers and their students participated in the Indiana Dairy and Nutrition Council's "Great Grow Along Program." The council provides schools with a lab rat feeding demonstration to help educate students about the importance of calcium in daily diet intake.

Parents invited to class on Internet safety
      Computer usage and Internet safety will be presented to parents of elementary and middle school students Nov. 6 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Delphi Community Elementary School cafeteria. There is no cost and childcare will be provided.

Third-graders stage presidential election
      There was a buzz in the air Tuesday at Delphi Community Elementary School as students prepared to vote for a president. Third-grade classes recently finished a section about government. Teachers Susan Kahler, Tana Lehr, Sherri Conner and Jill Routt were given permission by principal Bill Shidler to conduct a mock presidential election for the entire school.

AIM educates prospective students about IUK
      High school seniors and juniors are invited to attend an Academic Interest and Majors (AIM) Day on Tuesday at Indiana University Kokomo. AIM Day, which will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., is a campus visit experience designed to introduce prospective students to specific academic programs, the campus and its students.
