Edna L. Timmons

 
Edna L. Timmons, 96, of Lafayette, formerly of Idaville, died at 4 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at St. Anthony Health Care in Lafayette.

 

Born Aug. 1, 1912, in Chalmers, she was the daughter of Charles W. and Nettie D. Harrison Hornbeck. She was a 1930 graduate of Monticello High School and a 1932 graduate of International Business College of Fort Wayne.

On April 21, 1935, she married Wayne M. Timmons at her parents' home south of Monticello. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1978.

Mrs. Timmons resided in Lafayette for the past 21 years, coming from Idaville where she had resided most of her life.

She had been employed at the State Highway Garage, White County Abstract, and White County License Branch, all in Monticello.

She was a member of Eastlawn United Methodist Church in Idaville while residing there. After moving to Lafayette she attended the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Timmons enjoyed dancing and traveling.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker.

Surviving are two daughters, Janice A. Marvin of Flora and Mary Lynn Demerly (husband: Daniel E.) of Keaau, Hawaii; a son, Terry Timmons (wife: Sally) of Lafayette; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sharon Louise Timmons.

Services were held Sunday at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home, Monticello. The Rev. Keith Raderstorf of the Monticello Christian Church officiated. Burial was at the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery, rural Monticello.
