Services for Gene V. Lohrman, 82, of Logansprot, were held Oct. 18 there. Burial was at Davis Cemetery near Burnettsville. He died Oct. 15, 2008. Born Dec. 20, 1925, in Carroll County, he was the son of Floyd and Vera Pearl Michael Lohrman. He married Cora Gerard Lohrman in 1955 and she survives. Lohrman was retired from Grissom Air Force Base where he had worked in civil service for 30 years.

Services and burial for Sister Ruth Whalen (Rosemary Whalen), 93, of Tipton, were held last Wednesday there. She died Oct. 11, 2008. She entered the community of the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1934. She taught at several grade schools including Delphi.

F.D. "Denny" Spear, 70, of Bedford, Md., died Oct. 13, 2008, at the WMHS-Braddock Campus. Among the survivors are two sisters, Estell Shaw of Delphi and Nina Crace (husband: Beecher) of Brookston. Services were held Oct. 17 in Cumberland, Md.
