Comet staff report

Gov. Mitch Daniels will turn first dirt at a ceremonial groundbreaking immediately following the Hoosier Heartland Industrial Corridor (HHIC) annual meeting and luncheon celebration today, Oct. 22, at 1:30 p.m. at Faith Community Center in Lafayette.

The ground- breaking will mark the start of construction on the new $450 million Hoosier Heartland Corridor, a 31-mile four-lane divided highway from Lafayette to Logansport. The start of this construction has been moved up from 2010 because of Major Moves and Gov. Daniels' commitment to the corridor.

The public is welcomed to attend the ground- breaking.
