Carroll cross country sweeps HHC
The cross country program at Carroll Jr.-Sr. High did something it has never done before - won all four team championship titles in cross country during the same season. Coach Mike Miller's high school teams won both boys' and girls' team titles last Thursday while Coach Matt Benner's junior high teams came back on Friday and won both as well.
"The entire coaching staff is very proud of what this year's teams have accomplished so far," said Miller. "The varsity is looking forward to competing in this year's tourney. We have been training hard all season in preparation for the state tournament series and hope to be running in late October. Our program has grown this year to 52 runners which includes not only the high school but junior high. We try every year to put our best foot forward from the beginning to the end of the season. This year is no different."
Currently the boys' team is ranked 8th in the small school coaches' poll and carries a 125-30 record into the Lafayette Harrison Sectional.
The girls' are currently ranked 3rd in the small school poll and have a 130- 19 record as they prepare for the tourney.
