At this time of year thoughts turn to apple cider, warm fires and the beautiful colors Mother Nature gives us to enjoy before the snow flies.

This Saturday the Delphi Municipal Airport is hosting three different activities to help area residents enjoy the season. There will be something to help everyone in the community celebrate the changing of the year.

Ever-popular helicopter rides by the Goshen Air Center will be offered for those who want to view the countryside from a glassenclosed airship scooting across the sky. According to organizer Kyle Germond, there is nothing more enjoyable than looking down on the area and viewing sights only seen from that vantage point. There will be a cost for the rides. 'Copter pilots Zane Gillion and Randy Sharkey will be ready to transport riders into the skies above Carroll County.

For those who wish to keep their sights at groundlevel, the local trolley will provide touring around the county from both the airport and the Wabash & Erie Canal Interpretive Center. The trolley will depart the Canal Center Saturday at 1 p.m. and from the airport on Division Line Rd. at 1:15. It will also provide rides on Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. from the Canal Center only.

Young Eagles, a special aviation program geared for youth ages eight to 17, will be offered at the airport beginning at 8 a.m. Young Eagles is a program sponsored by the National Experimental Association (EAA) and hosted by the local chapter, which is based at the airport.

Youth will be invited to fly with a certified pilot in a small airplane. They will be allowed to manipulate the controls of the airplane with the pilot's help. They will be able to make the airplane go up, down, right and left. They can ask the pilot questions about general aviation and aviation careers.

Young Eagles is a free aviation learning experience for youth.

The public is encouraged to visit Delphi Municipal Airport Saturday to participate in any or all of the activities to celebrate the fall season.
