Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Helvie of Flora celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house Oct. 12 at Faith Church of Christ, Burlington. It was hosted by their children and grandchildren.

Helvie and the former Jackie Zigler were married Oct. 25, 1958, at Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, Texas.

They are both retired. He was an auditor for the Indiana Department of Revenue, and she was employed in the Tippecanoe County Veteran Service Office.

They have two sons, Rick Helvie (wife: Gloria) of Kirklin and Bryan Helvie (wife: Luann) of Batesville. The couple has three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
