DELPHI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE is asking for donations of candy, toy prizes and other fun items for the Fall Carnival at Canal Park, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will be hosted by the Delphi United Methodist Church. Games, hayrides, hot dogs and drinks will be available. The carnival is open to children ages pre-school through fifthgrade. Costumes are optional. Donations will be collected from local businesses Oct. 13. Contact the chamber office at (765) 564- 3034 for information.

DELPHI PARENTTEACHER CONFERENCES will be Oct. 22 and 23. Teachers will send home dates and times with students. If no schedule is received, call the child's school for a conference appointment.

Delphi Presbyterian Church will host its SENIOR CITIZENS' MONTHLY LUNCHEON Oct. 15 at noon in the church Fellowship Hall. An elevator is available for those in need. Call Susan at (765) 564-2371 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to request a ride or information.

CARROLL COUNTY SOCIAL SERVICE NETWORK will meet Oct. 20 from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Brooks Center Conference Room. Note change of date, place and time. There will be no lunch. RSVP to (765) 564-6466 by Oct. 15.

Youth 8 to 17 are invited to take to the skies above Carroll County and participate in EAA's YOUNG EAGLE PROGRAM Oct. 18 beginning at 8 a.m. at the Delphi Airport on Division Line Rd. The program is hosted by local EAA Chapter 256 and will introduce youth interested in aviation to the joys of flying an airplane. Participants will learn how an airplane flys and will be given an opportunity to take the controls to experience how maneuvering an airplane feels with a qualified pilot sitting next to them. Carroll County Antique Tractor Club will have a

PLOW DAY on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. at the Rinehart farm, located north of Burlington on SR 29 (north of Heinhold Hog Market). The public is invited.

Prior to its opening on Oct. 15, CLARIAN ARNETT HOSPITAL will host a "sneak preview" open house on Sunday. Free health screenings and tours of the new hospital will be available from 1 to 5. During the open house, guests will be able to tour the 400,000- square-foot hospital, including diagnostic, treatment, and patient care areas. The hospital is located at 5165 Mc- Carty Lane, at the corner of C.R. 500 E and McCarty Lane in Lafayette.

FLORA AND DELPHI HOMEMAKER CLUBS will meet this month to learn about the importance of eating whole grains. Flora Homemakers will meet Oct. 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the 4-H Building in Flora. Delphi Homemakers will meet Oct. 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Delphi. The lesson will include: baking tips on how to add whole grains to the diet and how to use sugar substitutes. Homemakers should bring their cookbooks and knitting. Marge Peterson will demonstrate how to make pumpkin decorations. Christmas will be quickly approaching. Homemakers are encouraged to attend the October and November meetings so they can participate in the Holiday Party.
